Finally some good news :)

Aj easter

We got good news that his spinal tap came back negative ๐Ÿ™‚ This means that his cancer is contained to his brain and did not spread to his spinal cord! This is the best news we have received since this whole ordeal started ๐Ÿ™‚

So today is Wednesday, April 16. I went back to work this week and each day I am trying to do something special with AJ. Luckily, I work at a childcare center and since there is no public school this week all the school-age children are here. Aj has been attending this school since he was a baby and I have been working here for 8 years so everyone here is like a second family. During the last two days, AJ has been having a blast just being around his peers.

Tomorrow we are back at the hospital for testing and meetings all day. Then, Friday and the weekend are free ๐Ÿ™‚ We will be heading to Pennsylvania on Friday to visit family and will be going to an indoor water park. We also will be going to a Met’s game, thanks to very special family ๐Ÿ™‚

Also during this time, I will be meeting with the head of pediatric oncology and a neurosurgeon from Columbia for a second opinion. Next week Aaron will go in for surgery for his Broviac port and then officially will be starting his chemo…

The past two weeks are still a blur and have been jammed back with everything under the sun. I think the most difficult part is trying to keep everything balanced. Everyone wants a piece of AJย right now, but what he really needs is just time to recoup from the initial surgery and time for him to absorb everything that has happened. I wish I could just pick him up and fly anywhere he wanted this week, but I know his body and mind are not ready for that.

  1. AJ will find the answers so others afflicted with this “villain” will use his “spidey” powers to overcome their villain…you have my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Aside from having the social workers on your team, you may want to inquire as to if they have a child psychologist. This person can also play an important re in AJ ( and your) journey.
